Patience and thorough exploration are key to unlocking everything the game has to offer‚ including its hidden trophies and special bots. To efficiently unlock all trophies in Astro Playroom‚ start by completing the main story while collecting as many puzzle pieces and artifacts as possible. When you get to the Checkpoint just after the Uncharted easter egg, head around the corner of the cliff to find a reporter pointing out a black painting on the rock. The symbols above the soldiers refer to the rhythm-based nature of the gameplay to help take on large beasts. On the right-hand side at the start of GPU Jungle is a lower platform of a Bot dancing in an orange head with blue jorts. This references 1996’s Crash Bandicoot on the PS1, developed by Naughty Dog and often considered the PlayStation’s earliest mascot-type character.
Collecting all pieces unlocks special rewards and contributes to trophy progress. Thorough exploration and careful navigation are key to finding every piece‚ ensuring you don’t miss any hidden gems. This guide helps you unlock all 46 trophies‚ including the Platinum‚ in this charming PS5 platformer.
Playstation Portable
The PS5 has been an unmitigated success, but the high prices of next-generation games are prompting gamers to look toward “freebies.” Here are the games you can already play for free on PlayStation 5. Here are the games released during 2025 that have won major industry awards or received nominations for those awards. We’ll update our awards tracker whenever new awards and nominations are announced. Astro’s Playroom has this infectious charm, even down to its main character, who is so cute and loveable.
Astro Bot Travels Through Levels In Fun And Creative Ways
This zone’s suit is the Frog Suit, again controlled with the Adaptive Triggers and the SIXAXIS. SC88 LINK is chronologically the first zone in the game, with Artefacts covering the original PlayStation era from 1995 to 2000. The suit in this zone is the Baseball Suit, which you can move around by swiping on the Touch Pad. Astro’s Playroom was announced on June 11, 2020, at the PlayStation 5 reveal event.[5] The game was released on November 12, 2020 to generally favorable reviews from critics. This file contains additional information such as Exif metadata which may have been added by the digital camera, scanner, or software program used to create or digitize it. If the file has been modified from its original state, some details such as the timestamp may not fully reflect those of the original file.
The manta ray was the second tech demo available on the pack-in Demo 1 disc to showcase the console’s prowess, depicting a manta ray swimming in the ocean with a school of fish. In the Labo area is a Bot using a PS1 controller to drive a red car around him. This references Ridge Racer, released on the PS1 in 1994 and developed by Namco. The car being driven is the one of the game’s boxart, the F/A Fiera, also known as the Kamata Fiera. At the second Checkpoint, look left to spot a giant white robot with a rock club, and a Bot with a sword and tunic on a tiny pinnacle in front of him.
There’s even a Trophies section to help you earn that coveted Platinum Trophy. The robots from the VR classic find new footing on the PS5 in Astro’s Playroom from the PS5 reveal event. When you return to the main hub area of Astro’s Playroom, the gigantic PS5 Pro will be displayed next to the base PS5, with a little Astro Bot perched on top. Simply interact with each one, help the bots lift up the rock, and they will be added to your collection.
Move controllers were also used for the hand-tracking controllers, although some games used the DualShock 4. The DualShock Controller is one of the most recognizable pieces of PlayStation history, and replaced the original pad as the pack-in controller. It added twin analog sticks (which could be pressed in for L3 and R3), a small and large rumble motor in either handle, and increased the height of the L2 and R2 buttons.
In the picture above, you can spot the PSP, PS Vita and PSP Go port and button layouts from the top and bottom of the systems. The only unknown one is the one with the Ethernet port, which doesn’t match any PlayStation system. On one of the monitors in the Labo area is an image of a CD-ROM and a DVD. DVDs meanwhile aided the PS2 because its DVD drive meant that it could play DVD movies, an incredibly popular format for watching films at the time. Speaking of which, on a table is a Bot observing a gold plus with the Sacred Symbols on it.
With 31 Bronze‚ 14 Silver‚ 5 Gold‚ and 1 Platinum trophy‚ the system provides a balanced challenge for players of all skill levels. The trophies range from story completion to collectible-based achievements and unique in-game challenges. Notably‚ none of the trophies are missable‚ allowing players to enjoy the game without pressure. The system is designed to be accessible‚ with an estimated completion time of 5-7 hours for the Platinum trophy.
In one of the animations, the Bot will check a clock, referencing how Dracula only returns from the dead every 100 years. Castlevania is a very important game, as it alongside Super Metroid helped establish the Metroidvania genre. A second reference to the game is the “Adequate, Boy…” Trophy, awarded for shooting all the rabbits at the end of Mt. Motherboard level in GPU Jungle. The name is a reference to Kratos always referring to his son as “boy”, as well as his habit of faint praise.
Puzzle Piece 2/4 – After the second red button where you then jump up the two metal sloped platforms, this puzzle piece is in the top left corner of the area before hitting the third red button. You’ll have to jump back to the left to it from the wooden platform on the right. The DualSense Wireless Controller is PlayStation’s most feature-filled controller. Removing only the light bar and renaming the Share Button to the Create Button, it features new haptic feedback motors in the handles for much more precise vibrations. The triggers were redesigned into “adaptive” triggers that provide force feedback during gameplay. You also find a monkey suit for climbing and a fun nod to Marble Madness that must have been suggested by, or intended as homage to, PlayStation 5 architect Mark Cerny who created the original game.
Astro’s Playroom
My favorite track overall, however, was the SSD Speedway, featuring sounds that match the game’s presentation perfectly. The final neat feature of Astro’s Playroom is the Network Speed Run challenge levels. You can do normal platforming challenge levels with Astro or ones focused on each suit to earn the best times. But it’s not all suits and colorful levels to enjoy, there’s also a mountain of collectibles to find that tug on the nostalgic heartstrings of any PlayStation fan.
While the normal levels are fun and do not pose too much of a challenge, the suits are still a mixed bag, and therefore, only half of them are enjoyable to use, and stunted my current best time in the game. But overall, in a free game, a slew of challenge levels to test yourself in is just icing on a near-perfect cake. Take control of ASTRO and feel the world through your DualSense wireless controller. Every step you take, every jump you make and every enemy you defeat are expressed in ways never felt before thanks to new, cutting-edge vibration technology. Astro Bot is a 2024 platform game developed by Team Asobi and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 5 to coincide with PlayStation’s 30th anniversary.
In this area, there are some spinning shapes on the walls and a puzzle piece directly in the middle of the right one you can grab. Artifact 2/3 “Playstation Portable” – After riding the rotating platform, there is a switch on the other side which creates a lily pad platform back to the right. You need to jump to the left to reach a room with another rotating platform. Puzzle Piece 4/4– While on the floating ice platforms, this puzzle piece is in the air while you are on the second one.
